- Pays ₦4,500–₦7,400 daily for Bolt to feel safe — 6–10× what a danfo costs.
- Loses 30+ hours a week to traffic and stop-and-go pickups.
- Doesn't trust danfos: no records, no accountability, no comfort.
Built first in Lagos for everyone daily ride-hail leaves behind. Drivers heading your way pick you up, you agree the fare directly, and you pay only for your leg of the trip.
Riders overpay or suffer. Drivers waste empty seats. The same math punishes every emerging-market megacity. We're starting in Lagos because we know its streets.

Historical route comparisons from November 2024. A shared passenger place and a dedicated car are different purchases. These are company observations, not current quotes or measured TagRides savings.
Drivers stay on their route. Riders walk to a parked driver or to a pickup point on a moving driver's route.
An Along driver enters a destination and available seats. TagRides maps the route and works out the pickup.
TagRides drafts a fare for the road shared with each driver. The rider can edit and send several offers; each driver accepts or counters once.
TagRides makes the first agreed match the pickup automatically. The rider can switch to another accepted driver until boarding confirms the seat and payment.
The end-to-end rider flow is in internal testing. The first public corridor has not launched yet.

TagRides fills empty seats in cars, taxis, vans, minibuses, tricycles, and motorcycles where lawful, without creating a new driver trip. Lagos is the first launch market, not the limit.
| Scale | Annual rider fares | Scenario detail |
|---|---|---|
| 5 cities | $21.9M | 3,000 rides/day/city · $4 average fare |
| 10 cities | $182.5M | 10,000 rides/day/city · $5 average fare |
| 20 cities | $1.10B | 25,000 rides/day/city · $6 average fare |
TagRides scenario model. Planning assumptions, not a third-party market forecast.
Along does not pay drivers to approach. If a pickup fails, the driver stays on the original route. TagRides earns only when the rider boards.
Charged only when the rider boards. Driver and rider both see the fee up-front.
Route intelligence, driver verification, and fare-estimate tools for logistics, fintech, and mobility partners under TAG-ALONG LTD.
We don't try to be everywhere on day one. We pick the highest-density commute in Lagos, saturate it, prove unit economics, then unlock the next corridor.
Own the Yaba ↔ Lagos Island corridor — the iconic Mainland-to-Island commute. UNILAG, YabaTech, Computer Village, Sabo, Adekunle, Onike all feed into Marina across Eko Bridge.
Target: onboard 300 verified drivers and route operators who already travel daily Yaba ↔ Island routes.
20,000 monthly active riders along the Yaba commute belt.
Lagos-wide → Abuja → Accra / Nairobi / Kigali. Then cities where daily private ride-hail prices out the working class — SE Asia, LATAM, the same corridor playbook ports.
Other services assign one car or sell one seat. Along lets riders send offers to several route-matched drivers, keep backups open, and confirm a seat only when they board.

VS · UBER / BOLTStrong dispatch, but the driver makes a new pickup trip and the rider is tied to one driver before pickup.
VS · INDRIVESeveral driver prices help riders compare options, but choosing one closes every other option and sends a whole car to the pickup.
VS · BLABLACARMonetises route-aligned seats, but booking removes inventory before physical pickup and alternatives do not remain live.
VS · DANFOThe closest offline comparison: fixed routes, shared seats, and payment on boarding. TagRides adds digital offers, backup options, identity, and trip records.
Private MVP. Rider research. Waitlist interest. Non-dilutive support.
Full-stack execution from one founder. Advisory weight from people who actually move things in Lagos.

Ships the full stack — Flutter rider + driver app, Go backend services, MQTT real-time geolocation pipeline, AWS infra. Took ownership of the production system as funding tightened. ALX Ventures alum; preparing TagRides for its first Lagos corridor launch.

Lagos tech-ecosystem operator. Apex Network introductions across logistics + payments + Lagos State partnerships.

Corporate operations + Lagos community gateway. Fuel-economics + driver-network access at scale.
Planning assumptions, not historical performance. Driver supply and 35% month-three cohort retention remain to be validated in the public pilot.
